~~Adz:Left~~Basseterre, St. Kitts, 9th October, 2006 - Tourism Week aims to incorporate the youth, especially in exercises which would guarantee that they develop a working knowledge of the industry. This is achieved through the hosting of a primary school quiz competition.
Now in its fourth year, the competition is organised by the Craft Vendor's Association with sponsorship garnered from the business community. Such sponsorship goes towards the purchase of the grand prize gifts and the live broadcast of the finals on television.
This year Carib Brewery has stepped forward to offer its support to the competition and the youths. Bronte Welsh, Dr William Connor, Irish Town and Tucker Clarke primary schools have made it to the finals and will vie for the championship this Thursday 12th at 8p.m on ZIZ television.
~~Adz:Right~~" The Juicy Primary School Quiz sponsored by Carib Brewery, is the Craft Vendor's Association's contribution to the activities of Tourism Week. It is always important to involve the children in the celebration of Tourism Week, said Alexander Dore, chairman of the organising committee.
" The first stage of the competition was keenly contested! Eliminations were held around the island and I must thank the parents for coming out to support their children."
Preserving our natural and cultural treasures: Key to Sustainability is the theme for Tourism Week 2006, which runs from October 8th-14th, 2006.
