Basseterre, St. Kitts, 11th October, 2006 - One of the most influential professionals in world tourism, is the Secretary General of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), Mr Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace. He has been invited to deliver the key note address at the annual Tourism Week Banquet.
The event is a key part of the Tourism Week of activities, as it awards those, within the Industry, who have done exemplary work over the year. It also gives members of the local business community a chance to show their support for the industry through their presence at the banquet. In addition, vital information on the direction of world tourism, its trends etc. are also revealed through the feature address.
Known for his engaging style of speaking; innovativeness and passion for the sustainable development of Caribbean tourism, Mr Vanerdpool-Wallace is expected to share a great deal of his experience and knowledge with the audience, on Saturday 14th October, 2006 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
"Mr Vanderpool-Wallace is a former Director of tourism who knows what a destination goes through in promoting itself. He will speak on his theory of the Caribbean Brand-the best un-owned brand," said Christine Walwyn, CEO (Ag.), St. Kitts Tourism Authority.
The remaining events for Tourism Week 2006 are: the Marine protected areas workshop, the Juicy Primary School Quiz competition on Thursday evening, the local Food Symposium also on Thursday at the St. Johnston's Community Centre starting at 9:00am and the Tourism Market Place at the Independence Square.
