Director of Sport Leroy Greene told SKNIS that final adjustments are being made, but the facility is virtually complete. It features a dual use court for netball and basketball, an international size football field and a cricket field which will be used for practice during the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Director Greene said the process to get a new facility has been long but it has finally bore fruit. "What we had before was just a basic open pasture (referring to the football area) with a basketball court and netball court on the other side," he stated reminiscing on the old facility.
An agreement brokered with the Stanford Group of Companies ensured the construction of a new sporting field adjacent to the previous site.

Cedric Liburd said & to the Conaree residents that they will have a new and much improved facility when the (construction) work was completed,' Greene said. "The Conaree residents say they are very proud of what they have & as this facility, (with the exception) of Warner Park is the best facility on St. Kitts."
He noted that the complex has aesthetically pleasing features that will enhance the look of the community. There are also plans to fence the football field to curtail the practice of driving vehicles on the field and provide added security.
Director Greene stressed that the Department will continue to engage the communities in managing these facilities. The Conaree community has already nominated members to sit on a management committee. They will be supported by personnel from the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Culture.
