~~Adz:Left~~The following persons were arrested and charged with offences between 21st and 23rd October 2006.
On 21st October 2006, Charles Webster of Newtown and a fifteen-year-old male juvenile of New Pond Site were arrested and charged with the offence of "Building Breaking and Larceny".
The offence took place at the office of PROTECH situated at New Pond Site on 12th October 2006 where items to the value of approximately $2,500.00 were stolen.
Also in connection with this incident, Burnette Levine of New Pond Site was charged with the offence of "Receiving stolen goods". A search was carried out at the residence of Levine where a number the stolen items were recovered.
While on 22nd October 2006, Charles Webster of Newtown and a fifteen-year-old male juvenile of New Pond Site were arrested and charged with the offence of "Building Breaking with Intent".
The offence took place at the St. Christopher Preparatory School situated at Taylor's on 17th October 2006 where Webster was apprehended inside of the building, by police officers who were responding to a tip from an anonymous caller.
On 23rd October 2006, Damian Nisbett of Stapleton Village was charged with offences of "Possession of a Controlled Drug", "Possession With Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis and "Carrying Abroad an Offensive Weapon" all committed on 22nd October 2006. He was granted bail at the Magistrate Court in the sum of $20,000.00 to appear at the said court on 4th December 2006.
~~Adz:Right~~On 23rd October 2006, Shervyn Herbert of ConareeVillage was charged with the offences of "Threat to Kill" and "Possession of a Controlled Drug" committed on 19th and 23rd October 2006 respectively.
At the High Court, Ramie Gumbs of John England Project, St. Peters who had earlier during the assizes been convicted of "Robbery" committed on 1st July 2005 at Independence Square was sentenced to serve twelve (12) years imprisonment.
At the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 23rd October 2006, Calvert Thomas who was charged with the offence of "Building Breaking and Larceny committed between 26th and 29th August 2006, was convicted of "Larceny". He was fined $2,000.00 in two (2) months or in default to serve six (6) months imprisonment with hard labour.
At the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 23rd October 2006, Kevin Bergan of West Farm, who was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed between 1stth May and 9th September 2006, was convicted of the charge. He was placed on a bond for a period of two (2) years in the sum of $500.00 to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
~~Adz:Left~~In default thereof the bond will be forfeited and if Bergan fails to pay the sum he will in default serve three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour.
At the Sandy Point Magistrate Court, Chas Pemberton of Old Road who was charged with the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis committed on 26th July 2006 was convicted.
He was placed on a bond for a period of twelve (12) months and any breach of the bond will result in his being taken before the court for sentencing.
On 23rd October 2006, officer of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Drug Unit, Canine Unit and Customs Department carried out a search of the M.V. Lady Susan of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The search which was carried out at the Deep Water Port revealed forty-one (41) cases of Heineken Beer that were not declared to the Customs Department.
As a result the Customs Department charged the captain Nicholas Jones of Pembroke St. Vincent $10,000.00 for failing to declare the beer. The money was paid and the vessel has since left the Federations" territorial waters.
