BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 3RD 2006 - St. Kitts and Nevis has a profound admiration and respect for the beauty, vibrancy and resilience of the people of Dominica.
So says St. Kitts and Nevis' Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas in a congratulatory message to his counterpart from the Commonwealth of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerritt on his nation's 28th Anniversary of Independence.
Dr. Douglas used the opportunity of this significant occasion to renew the assurances of the goodwill and solidarity "as together we rise to meet the challenges of these arduous times."
"If, as the wise old adage claims, Adversity does indeed build Character, then Dominican Experience has indeed forged the brightest gem amongst the jewels of the Caribbean Sea! Such is the fine heritage that will be celebrated on this occasion, and the Government and people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis ~~Adz:Left~~Celebrate with you!," said Prime Minister Douglas in his message.
Dr. Douglas traveled to Roseau to accept Dominica's highest national award on behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
