BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 16TH 2006 (CUOPM) St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is leading a high-level delegation on an Official Working Visit to the Republic of China on Taiwan next week.
Following the arrival of the delegation in Taipei on Tuesday November 21st, Prime Minister Douglas will pay a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of China on Taiwan, His Excellency, Chen Shui-bian, who will host the Prime Minister at a State Luncheon.
Dr. Douglas will also call on the Vice President of the Republic of China, Her Excellency Annett Lu, visit the Ministry of Agriculture and be guest of honour at a Dinner hosted by the Vice Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China to St. Kitts and Nevis, Her Excellency Ms. Katherine Chang.
Discussions will also be held with officials of the International Cooperation Development Fund; the Ministry of National Science; the Taoyuan Agricultural Research and Improvement Institute; the Candy Museum & Company, the Fu-tien Commercial Farm, the Science-based Industrial Park, and the Keelung Aquaculture Farm and Fishing Port.
Visits will also be made to the Ministry of Finance and to the Institute for Information Industry which include the signing of a draft Memorandum of Understanding in Information Communications Technology Cooperation between the Republic of China on Taiwan and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Prime Minister Douglas will be accompanied by Minister of Housing, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Cedric Liburd; Minister of State with responsibility for Finance, Information, Technology and Sustainable Development, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty; Cabinet Secretary Mr. Joseph Edmeade; Financial Secretary, Mrs. Janet Harris; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Agriculture and Fisheries, Mrs. Hermia Morton-Anthony and Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mr. Erasmus Williams.
The Prime Minister and his delegation are guests of the Government and People of the Republic of China on Taiwan.
