Digicel launched its mobile operation in the Federation on the December 2
nd, 2005 with an unbelievable foray of pre-launch activity and on the ground excitement. The Digicel stores across St. Kitts and Nevis were inundated with eager citizens who started to queue from as early as 5am, to be one of the first to own a Digicel phone; these scenes continued all the way through to the New Year.
Twelve (12) months later and Digicel has proved itself to be an energetic company with real stamina; and has truly lived up to their customer promise of "Expect More Get More." Digicel has become renowned in St. Kitts and Nevis for its creative marketing with never before seen promotions to the Federation.
Commenting Brian Finn General Manager for Digicel St. Kitts and Nevis stated: "Since our launch the response from the public has been phenomenal, it has surpassed our every expectation. We are privileged to have been able to deliver real choice and better value to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, for too long they had no option but to suffer in silence"
"
Digicel has invested heavily in the Federation at every level from the roll-out of a 1
st class mobile network through to a wide array of community based sponsorship activities. Additionally, we recently signed a Ten (10) year lease on our new corporate home in Newtown, Digicel house. This is very significant as it reaffirms our long term commitment to the people of the Federation. The public can rest assured that Digicel is here to stay and the days of high prices and poor service have gone forever" Finn added.
In twelve (12) months the list of activities that Digicel have undertaken are indeed impressive, some of which are:
