    In furtherance of the investigation into the death of the late Alexis Gilbert formally of Station Street, Dieppe Bay a fifteen-year-old male juvenile of Saddlers Village was arrested and charged with the offence of Murder.

     

     

     

    Gilbert was stabbed in his chest when a fight broke out at the Parsons community center at about 1:30 a.m. on 26th November 2006 and died within hours of the incident.

     

     

     

     

     

    On Wednesday 29th November 2006, at the District A Magistrate Court, the following persons were committed to stand trial at the January 2007 Criminal Assizes.

     

    ·         Romeo Cannonier of Parson Village who was charged with the July 2004 "Murder" of Police Officer "Delvin Nisbett" was committed to stand trial at the January 2007 Criminal Assizes.

     

     

     

    ·         Joseph Stanley of Cardin Avenue and Trevis Stevens of Douglas Estate who were jointly charged with the offence of "Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm" were committed to stand trial at the January 2007 Criminal Assizes.

     

     

     

     

     

    Also at the said court, the Preliminary Inquiry into the June 2001 "Murder" of Guyanese national Baldeo Madray concluded with the charge being dismissed against the accused Keita Williams. Williams had fled the Federation after the incident and was extradited from the USVI to stand trial for his part in the offence however the Magistrate found that a prima facie case had not been made against him. The principal witness in the case failed to attend court to testify.

     

     

     

    While at the District B Magistrate Court, Rodney Steingbergen of Old Road Village who was charged with the offence of "Indecent Assault" was committed to stand trial at the January 2007 Criminal Assizes. He was also granted bail in the sum of $10,000.00 to appear at the said court on the aforementioned date.

     

     

     

    Adrian Buchanan of Sandy Point who was charged with the offence of "Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" was committed to stand trial at the January 2007 Criminal Assizes.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    ~~adz:right~~On 29th November 2006 at the District B Magistrate Court, Kelvin Matthew of Saddlers Village who was charged with the offence of "Wounding" was convicted and fined $1,500.00 to be paid by 19th January 2007 or in default to serve five (5) months imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

     

     

    Kervin Matthew of West Farm who was charged with the offence of "Larceny" was bailed in the sum of $5,000.00 to appear at the District B Magistrate Court on 5th December 2006. He is also to report to the Tabernacle Police Station on Mondays and Fridays between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

     

     

     

     

     

    Alex Hodge of Tabernacle who was charged with the offence of "House Breaking and Larceny" committed on 3rd November 2006 was granted bail in the sum of $9,000.00 to appear at the said court on 5th December 2006. He is also to report tot the Tabernacle Police Station on Fridays between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

     

      

     

    The following persons were arrested and charged on 29th November 2006;

     

    ·         Terrence Bradshaw of Tabernacle Village and Dennis Maynard of Irish Town were charged with the offence of "Larceny" when they allegedly stole five (5) pallets of 8 concrete blocks on 9th November 2006. They were later bailed in the sum of $10,000.00 each to re-appear at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 4th December 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Theodore Williams of Basseterre was charged with the offences of "Larceny" committed on 15th November 2006, "Possession with Intent to Supply" and "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis committed on 28th November 2006.

     

     

     

    On 28th November 2006, a sixteen-year-old male juvenile of St. Johnson Village was charged with the offence of House Breaking and Larceny committed on 24th November 2006. He was granted bail at the Magistrate Court in the sum of $10,000.00 to re-appear at the said Court on 4th December 2006.
