Another issue discussed was how to change the gang related activities on both islands. "The growth of gang incidents in the high schools of the Federation is a topic which both islands are looking at to eradicate, because of its interference with the productivity of our young men and women and school moral on a whole", said Premier Parry.

The Premier who is also Minister of Education is seeking more involvement in the Education system so that Nevis can have more influence and a better role in the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) program. The BNTF is a poverty alleviation program funded by the St. Kitts - Nevis Government, CEDA and Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
While in St Kitts on Thursday Premier Parry met with Minister of National Security, Hon. Dwyer Astaphan at his Port Zante office. These meetings, especially those with The Hon. Dwyer Astaphan, the Hon. Sam Condor and Premier Parry proved to be very successful as the NIA looks towards having a continual, meaningful and gratifying relationship with the Federal Government in the years to come.
