The Criminal Investigation Department is investigating a shooting incident which occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday 19th December 2006 on Infirmary Road, just south of the Patsy Allers Playing Field. The incident left a sixteen-year-old male of Basseterre hospitalized at the J.N.F. GeneralHospital with gunshot wounds to his back and abdomen.

On 17-12-06 a traffic accident occurred along the island main road at Camps, Nevis involving motor jeep PA4574 owned and driven by Peter Vanterpool of Farms, Nevis and motor jeep RA50 owned by MM Rentals and driven by Jeff Rosen of AmmonGardens, Nevis. Both vehicles had three passengers each and they all received injuries and were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
On 18-12-06, a coroners' inquest was carried out at the Charlestown Magistrate Court, to inquire into the cause of death of Frank Tyson formerly of Jessups, Nevis. The jury found that Tysons' death which occurred on 2nd August 2005 at JessupsVillage, Nevis was accidental.
On 19-12-06 Elroy Prentice of PhillipsVillage who was charged with the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" was convicted and fined $10,000.00 to be paid in three (3) months or in default to serve twelve (12) months imprisonment with hard labour.
The following persons were arrested and charged between 17th and 19th December 2006;
·On 17-12-06, Livingston "Cameron" Henry of Hermitage Village, Cayon was charged with the offence of "Being armed with an offensive weapon" committed on 17th December 2006..~~Adz:Right~~
·On 18-12-06, Leo Roland Herbert of CottonGroundVillage, was arrested for the offence of Larceny of a cell phone value $2,495.00 EC., offence was committed on 04-12-06.
·On 19-12-06, Dwight Hodge of IrishTown was charged with the offences of; "Driving without Insurance", "Driving an unregistered vehicle", "Driving without a valid license", Driving an unlicensed vehicle", and "Driving without an identification mark on the said vehicle".
·On 19-12-06, Dave Denzil Flemming alias "Dino" was charged with the offence of "Wounding" committed on 16th December 2006 at Ponds Pasture.
·On 19-12-06, Steve Francis of Bakers Corner was charged with the offence of "Wounding with Intent" committed on 16th December 2006 at Ponds Pasture.
The following convictions were laid at the sitting of the Basseterre Juvenile (Magistrate) Court on 18th December 2006;
·A juvenile from the CarifestaVillage area who was charged with the offence of "Battery" which was committed on 07-11-06 was convicted, reprimanded and discharged.
·A juvenile of the Lower Market Street area who was charged with the offences of "Battery on Police", "Resisting Arrest", "Indecent Language" and "Escaping Lawful Custody" which were committed on 08-09-06 was convicted and placed on probation in the sum of $2000.00 EC., for a period of three (3) years to keep the peace and to be of good behaviour. He was also ordered to maintain a curfew at his place of residence between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.; to attend school regularly and punctually; to not to be found in the company of undesirables; to perform 120 hours of community service between 20-12-06 30 hrs and 22-01-07 under the supervision of the Probation Department and to visit the Probation Office every Thursday until further notice.
·A juvenile of the Cunningham Street area of Basseterre who was charged with the offences of "Indecent Language" and "Obstruction" which was committed on 08-09-06 was convicted and placed on probation in the sum of $2,000.00 EC.,for a period of three (3) years to keep the peace and to be of good behaviour. He was also ordered to maintain a curfew at his place of residence between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.; to attend school regularly and punctually; to not to be found in the company of undesirables; to perform 120 hours of community service between 20-12-06 30 hrs and 22-01-07 under the supervision of the Probation Department.~~Adz:Right~~
