(Charlestown; Nevis): On Thursday, the Nevis Electricity Company (NEVLEC) hosted its inaugural Customer Appreciation Day to show its gratitude to customers for their support and patronage throughout the year.
Customer Services Manager/Public Services Officer, Tresia Daniel, explained the inaugural event was hosted with a view to demonstrating the company's appreciation to its customers.
"This is the first time that we are doing this but we hope to make it an annual event; our customers have been very good to us over the course of 2006 and we look forward to serving them even better in the New Year," she said. "In 2007 we hope to introduce some new customer service initiatives that we believe our customers would enjoy and appreciate."
Daniel said that they prepared snack boxes and also, some customers received pens, clocks and other items of that nature to show their appreciation.
She also urged NEVLEC patrons to be frugal in their electricity usage in the New Year. ~~Adz:Right~~
"I am appealing to our customers to use their electricity wisely this season considering that the fuel surcharge for domestic customers would be passed on to the customers from January 01, 2007 and I imagine that is going to be a drastic change for most persons," she said.
"Be wise. If you are going to put up lights do not have them burning all throughout the night because your bill is going to be excessive at the beginning of the year.
With that being said I would like to express my gratitude to all our customers for their support throughout 2006 and anticipate serving them in the New Year."
