    Tucker-Clarke Primary to get face-lift

     

    The first *Horsfords and Penta Paints "Paint on the Spot" Art Competition* attracted well over 100 participants and produced a very healthy crop of entries competing for various prizes including the grand prize of a free exterior paint job for the school with the most winners points .

     

    A small but significant presentation was held at the Board Room of S.L Horsford & Co. Ltd to highlight and present to the winning students their individual prizes and to the winning school their overall prize.

     

    Teachers, Parents along with Mr. Wallis Wilkin of the Horsfords Marketing department and Mr. Winston Tyrell of the Horsfords Building Center Department were present at the ceremony.

     

    The participants took part in 4 categories namely ages 5-8, 9-12,13-16 and 17-20. Tucker Clarke Primary Schools Noel Nicholls and Aljani Bridgewater took the 1^st and 2^nd place respectively in the 5-8 age group while Bethony Greene of the Beach Allen Primary was 3^rd .

     

    In the 9-12 year old category Jaydee Joseph of the Beach Allen Primary's depiction of a cruise ship docked at port zante was 1^st with Dr.

     

    William Connor Primary's Salmon Nisbett earning the 2^nd place followed by Dylan Defreitas of the Tucker Clarke Primary.

     

    Basseterre High School's Lizca Bass' air and sea splendour led the 13-16 year old category while Jenerva Pemberton also of the Basseterre High followed in 2^nd place with Curvin Nisbett completing the BHS sweep in the 13-16 year old category in 3^rd place.

     

    In the 17-20 year old age group Keithroy Marshall of the Washington Archibald High was declared the winner.

     

    The overall winning school was the Tucker Clarke Primary School which not only had the most overall points but also the most participants in the competition with 6. The Tucker-Clarke school will now be enhanced with an exterior face-lift compliments Penta Paints and S.L Horsford @ Co. Ltd. Principal Charles of the Tucker Clarke Primary was their along with the winners to accept their prizes.

     

    Other participating schools included the Sandy Point Primary, the Cayon Primary,the Edgar T. Morris Primary, the Bronte-Welsh Primary, Irishtown Primary among others.
