On Tuesday 30th January 2007, at approximately 3:20 p.m. officers of the Sandy Point Police Station made a search of an abandoned house at Downing Street, Sandy Point where they discovered a number of cannabis plants being grown. Sixty-eight (68) potted plants were found inside of the building as well as an additional eighty-five (85) empty two gallon flower pots, twenty-five (25) lbs of NPK, six yards of plastic, hand shovels and a pressurized (3) gallon spray bottle. No one has been charged in this incident.
The following persons were arrested and charged between 29th and 30th January 2007;
·On Monday 29th January 2007, Marcus Smith of TorontoCanada was charged with the offence "Making use of Indecent Language" committed on 29th January 2007 at the R.L.B.Airport. Smith is scheduled to appear before the District "A" Magistrate Court on 31st January 2007.~~adz:Right~~
·On 30th January 2007, Deshawn Leader of St. Pauls was charged with the offence of "Robbery" committed on 28th January 2007, at NewtonGroundVillage.
·On 30th January 2007, Randy Scott alias "Wicked" of Lower Cayon, was charged with the offences of "Carrying abroad and offensive weapon" to wit a knife" "Battery", "Possession with Intent to Supply" and "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis.
At the Charlestown Magistrate Court on Tuesday 30th January 2007, Ketron Springette of Stoney Grove who was charged with the offence of "Larceny" was sentenced to serve one (1) year imprisonment with hard labour.
