Police Press Release

    On Thursday 8th February 2007, the following persons were convicted and fined at the Basseterre Magistrate Court;

     

     

     

    ·        Roy Nias of Challengers Village who was charged with the offence of "Driving an unlicensed vehicle" was convicted and fined $200.00 to be paid forthwith or in default to serve one week imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

    ·         Anderson Dolphin of Saddlers Village who was charged with two counts of the offence of "Driving off the bus route" was convicted and fined $100.00 on each count to be paid forthwith or in default to serve one week imprisonment with hard labour.~~adz:Right~~   

     

     

     

    ·         Arnold Wilkin of St. Johnson Village, Basseterre who was charged with the offence of "Careless Driving" was convicted and fined $400.00 to be paid in one week or in default to serve one week imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

    ·         Patricia Phillip of Dieppe Bay Village who was charged with the offence of "Careless Driving" was convicted and fined $350.00 to be paid in one week or in default to serve one week imprisonment with hard labour. This matter was tried ex-parte.

     

     

     

     The following persons were charged with the following offences on 7th February 2007;

     

     

     

    ·         Amwor Riley of John Street, Newtown was charged with the offence of Indecent Assault committed on 24th May 2006.

     

     

     

    ·         Kethline Skelton of Phillips Village was charged with the offence of "Malicious Damage" committed on 4th February 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Daren Sutton of Mount Idle, Sandy Point was charged the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis, committed on 6th February 2007.

     

     

     

     

     

    The following persons were charged with the following offences on 8th February 2007;

     

     

     

    ·         Llewellyn "More-I" Hutton of Herbert Alley, Newtown was charged with the offences of "Possession with Intent to Supply" and "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis, committed on 8th February 2007, during the execution of a search warrant on his premises.

     

     

     

    ·         Claudette Liddie alias "Carley" of Main Street, Dieppe Bay was charged with the offence of "Uttering a forged document" committed on 6th February 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Devon Hanley of Shadwell Estate was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 27th January 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         A seventeen-year-old male of the Cayon Village area was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 1st February 2007.~~adz:Right~~   

     

     

     

    ·         A sixteen-year-old male of the Tabernacle Village area was charged with the offences of "Larceny", "Carrying abroad an offensive weapon" and "Defacing Property" committed on 8th February 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Joseph Wilson of Zion, Gingerland was charged with the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis, committed on 8th February 2007 following the execution of a search warrant on his premises.

     

     

     

     On Thursday 8th February 2007 at the High Court, Rupert "Skilful" Bridgewater who was charged with the offence of "Burglary", was convicted and sentenced to serve three (3) years imprisonment with hard labour.

     

                                           

     

    A traffic accident occurred on the main road at Upper Monkey Hill, involving motor omnibus HA-157 owned and driven by Fitzroy Bass of Parry Village and a three-year-old (3) female pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to the J.N.F Hospital where she was treated for her injury and later discharged. Investigations are continuing into this incident.-
