Police are investigating a wounding incident that occurred on Monday 5^th March 2007 in the Sandy Point area, where a man was attacked and wounded in his neck. The forty-nine (49) year-old Sandy Point resident is presently listed as being in stable condition at the J.N.F. General Hospital.  

A nineteen-year-old (19) male of the Sandy Point area is presently assisting police with their investigation into this incident. To this end, police are requesting that anyone with information relevant to this investigation to contact the Sandy Point Police Station at 465-6261 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext 220 / 230 / 236 and they can do so anonymously.

At the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 5^th March 2007, the following persons were convicted of offences;

·         Glenville Whyte of Temple Alley who was charged with the offence of "Carrying abroad an offensive weapon" committed on 2^nd January 2007 was convicted and fined $500.00 to be paid by 5^th April 2007 or in default to serve two (2) weeks imprisonment with hard labour.~~adz:Right~~

·         Valentine Francis of Upper Monkey Hill who was charged with the offences of "Disorderly Conduct by making noise" and "Making use of Indecent Language" committed on 16^th January 2007 was convicted of both charges and fined $300.00 for each charge to be paid in one month or in default to serve one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour.

At the High Court on Tuesday 5^th March 2007, Shinnel Bass of St. Peters was convicted of the offence of "Forgery" committed between 13^th August 2001 and 1^st March 2002, however sentence has been reserved until 14^th March 2007.
