Basseterre, St. Kitts (March 06, 2007):

He stressed that in a tourism environment, Basseterre is one of the most significant elements there is and persons must work hard to preserve its unique beauty and history.

In accepting the cheques, Minister Skerritt, explained that the face lift project forms part of a bigger initiative to completely restore the historic building over the coming years.

He thanked the Chamber and Carib Breweries for their contributions and singled out Leewinds Paint, Royal Bank of Canada, (contractor) Joey Benjamin for their partnership.

Credit was also given to the Ministry of Finance which is funding more than 50 percent of the $75,000.00 facelift project.
