St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service
General Manager of the Craft House Austin Weekes
Basseterre, St. Kitts (March 08, 2007):
The Craft House introduced its latest service to the public on Thursday when it provided SKNIS with a tour of its high quality, custom framing area.

General Manager of the Craft House Austin Weekes said the service is a significant improvement on what was previously offered at the facility.

"Previously, we would have just done framings without mat boards & but we have gotten all this equipment which is necessary to produce high quality work and we have the expertise to produce quality framework," he said.

"I would encourage anyone who has pictures, paintings or certificates to frame to come to the Craft House. Our prices are very competitive and (in fact are) the best on island."

Mr. Weekes explained that the Craft House offers a wide array of products, some of which, the public may be unfamiliar.~~adz:Right~~

"A lot of people are not aware that we do joinery here in the workshop," he disclosed. "Whether you need to have a bed frame made, a dressing table (or something else) we can do those on special order. We also do a lot of locally produced craft items using coconut, cattle horn, leather and the like."

The general manger stressed that the public should support nationally based institutions as it reduces foreign reserves spent on the importation of products.
