(Basseterre; St. Kitts): The Bank of Nova Scotia, capitalized on the opportunity to assist with the Fort Street Beautification Project with an EC$ 5000 donation.
Country Manager, Mr. Dimitrios Adamopoulos, handed over the cheque to Mr. Ernest Amory, during a brief ceremony at the banks headquarters, early last week.
Mr. Adamopoulos said his institution was pleased to aid in the Fort Street Beautification process, as the end result will positively reflect on the banks drive to give customers the ultimate banking experience.
He noted that Scotia Bank was no stranger to making contributions to the development of the community and this was not only evident in their contribution to the dressing of Fort Street, but in their mammoth partnership with the ICC Cricket World Cup.
He indicated that his company will continue to do everything in its power to continue germinate positive relations between itself and society and concluded by expressing his delight at how beautiful the renovations at Fort Street looked.
The cheque was readily accepted by Mr. Amory, the Chairman of the Fort Street Beautification Project, who indicated that it was heart warming to see the corporate community respond to the SOS to maintain the unique beauty and appeal of Fort Street, and by extension Basseterre.~~adz:Right~~
He disclosed that the Committee, as well as the local Government, was entertaining the idea of expanding the beautification works to West Independence Square Street and Church Street.
