Police are investigating three (3) shooting incidents which occurred in the Newtown area of Basseterre over the weekend.~~adz:Right~~

The first incident occurred at 11:45 p.m. on Sunday 25^th March 2007 at Douglas Street where someone shot at a resident's home which was unoccupied at the time.

Then at 1:45 a.m. on Monday 26^th March 2007, the second incident occurred on George Street at a home which at the time occupied by two male residents of the area.

The third incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Monday 26^th March 2007 at Manchester Avenue, where a gunman opened fire at two male residents of the area.

No one was injured in any of these incidents nor has anyone been arrested in relation to any of the three (3) shooting incidents, however investigations are continuing.

The police are requesting that any person with information in relation to either of these incidents, to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 466-8352 or 465-2241 Ext. 220 / 230 / 236, and they can do so anonymously.

On 26^th March 2007, the following persons were arrested and charged with the following offences:

1.     Jermaine Browne of Sandy Point was charged with the offence of "Wounding with Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm", which was committed against a male adult on 23^rd March 2007 at Frigate Bay.

2.     Justin Henry of Hermitage Village, Lower Cayon was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 23^rd March 2007 at Cayon Village.

3.     St. Clair Phillip of Saddlers Village was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 18^th March 2007 at Warner Park Stadium.

4.     Jamal Foreman of Stapleton Village was charged with the offence of "Disorderly Conduct by Fighting" committed on 25^th March 2007.

5.     Damian Harris of Salt Pond Alley, Basseterre was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed between 3^rd and 15^th March 2007.

6.     Kenrick Herbert of Upper Fiennes Avenue, was charged with the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" committed on 25^th March 2007.

7.     Vernon Gittens of Bird Rock was charged with the offence of "Driving under the influence of alcohol" committed on 26^th March 2007 at Irish Town Bay Road, Basseterre.

8.     Daren Webster of Rawlins Village, Nevis was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 25^th March 2007 at Stoney Grove, Nevis.~~adz:Right~~
