    Chris Dehring - Managing Director of ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Inc.

     

    Basseterre, St. Kitts (June 04, 2004): The venue assessment team for the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 continues its verification tour with a two-day visit to St. Kitts and Nevis commencing Wednesday, June 9, 2004.

     

    The 13-member team, will start its evaluation on Wednesday with a
    mult-media presentation of key aspects of the St. Kitts and Nevis'
    submission.  Team members include Managing Director of the 2007 Cricket
    World Cup Chris Dehring who is complemented by specialists in various
    fields relating to the hosting of the event.

     

    The visiting team will also entertain close door sessions with government officials to discuss the Host Venue Aggreement between ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Inc. and the successful local organising committee in relation to hosting of World Cup matches and events.

     


    Special presentations will also be made to the touring officials on the
    status and plans for the Warner Park Stadium, other infrastructure and
    services being proposed for the staging of events.

     

    The team is also expected to tour selected proposed facilities, while 
    officials will also discuss additional issues, including transportation, security and media facilities.

     

    The St. Kitts and Nevis 2007 World Cup Cricket Bic Committee is led by Mr. Charles Wilkin QC and includes representatives from the public and private sectors.

     

    Selected countries will be announced by the assessment team on July 04 in London, England, and the award of matches on July 13 in Montego Bay,
    Jamaica.

     

    The ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Inc. revealed that 11 countries submitted bids to host 2007 World Cup events.  They are Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bermuda, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States.
