The building which houses the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CIC) will soon be wearing a newer look thanks to a donation made by a member of the corporate community.

The TDC Group of Companies, through its principal BERGER Paints ( Barbados) Limited, presented some 30 gallons of paint to the Chamber.

The paint which is valued in excess of EC$3000.00 was officially handed over to Franklyn Brand, President of the CIC, by Leon Bass, Assistant Manager of the TDC Home and Building Depot on the Frigate Bay Road.

Bass, in handing over the paint noted that TDC, through BERGER Paints (Barbados) Limited takes pleasure in providing assistance for and being a part of the ongoing beautification programme undertaken by the private sector grouping.

"We have once again partnered with one of our Principals, BERGER Paints, to offer support to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. On behalf of both institutions, kindly accept these 30 gallons of paint. We are certain that they will go a long way in helping to further beautify your Headquarters and its environs."

In response, Brand thanked the donors and noted that the paint would assist in rejuvenate the face of Chamber.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, it gives me great pleasure to accept this donation from TDC and BERGER to assist in beautifying the Chamber Headquarters. We are very grateful for this gift because the Chamber is the beacon for the private sector in the Federation. This donation will go along way in energizing the face of the Chamber.   Thank you very much," Brand said. 

Also lending her voice in expressing thanks, the CIC's Executive Director, Wendy Phipps, described the donation as generous and commended both TDC and Berger Ltd for their continued support.

"On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of staff, I would like to express words of gratitude to TDC and its principals BERGER Paints (Barbados) Limited for this generous donation. These paints will be used to give the Headquarters and urgent facelift. This is the second time that these two businesses have come forward to support the beautification of the Chamber, the fist being when the headquarters moved to its present location.   A similar presentation was made back then to beautify the exterior walls of the building. We commend both Companies for their Corporate Citizenship and continued sponsorship of the Chambers endeavours."
