    (Basseterre; St. Kitts):
Noel 'Zambo' Heath of St. Kitts who was extradited to the US to the Federal Court to face drug conspiracy charges and pleaded guilty at his arraignment was recently sentenced to four years imprisonment.

Heath who was previously described by federal officials as an 'international drug kingpin' was sentenced on Thursday, April, 5, by U.S. District Judge David Larimer.

The 57 year-old pleaded guilty in December to a drug conspiracy involving a shipment of 28 pounds of cocaine seized on its way to Rochester in 1992.
Although sentencing guidelines suggested a sentence ranging from 70 to 87 months, Larimer gave Heath less time, citing Heath's age, his extended absence from his family and the certainty that he would be deported.
Heath fought extradition for ten years since being indicted in 1995 on charges that he plotted the shipment of cocaine found in a tractor-trailer on the New York Thruway near Victor, Ontario County.
In March of 2005, the authorities in St. Kitts "co-operated" with the U.S Justice Department, where Heath was finally extradited at age 56 along with Glenroy Matthew.

Matthew in a separate trial was previously sentenced to 11 years in federal prison.
