Police Press Release
        

    The following persons were arrested and charged on between 16th and 18th April 2007;

     

     

    On 16th April 2007, a thirteen-year-old female of the Ottleys Project area was charged with the offence of "Being armed with an offensive weapon" committed on 15th April 2007 at Ottleys.

     

     

    On 16th April 2007, Nigel Foreman of Stapleton Village was charged with the offence of "Disorderly Conduct" committed on 13th April 2007 at Stapleton Village.

     

     

    On 16th April 2007, Kenrick Thomas of Upper College Street, Basseterre was charged with the offence of "Wounding" committed on 24th March 2007 at Cayon Street, Basseterre.

     

     

    On 16th April 2007, Jermaine Smithen of Bradshaw Avenue, St. Pauls was charged with the offence of "Malicious Damage" committed on 14th April 2007 at St. Pauls.

     

     

    On 18th April 2007, Alton Silcott of Keys Village was charged with two counts of "Indecent Assault" committed on 19th March 2007.

     

     

    On 18th April 2007, Etienne Henry of Lodge Village was charged with the offence of "Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" committed between 1st February and 30th March 2007.

     

     

    On 18th April 2007, Travis Brazier of Government Road, Charlestown was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed on 14th April 2007.~~adz:Right~~

     

     

    The following persons were convicted at this weeks sitting of the Assizes on the Island of Neivs;

     

    · On Monday 16th April 2007, the case of the DPP vs Mitchelle Manners of Camps Village, Nevis was heard. Manners, was indicted on a charge of "Causing Grievous Bodily Harm" to a female Nevisian, on 7th July 2006. He pleaded guilty to the indictment and was subsequently sentenced to serve nine (9)years imprisonment with Hard Labour

     

     

    · On Wednesday 18th April 2007, the case of the DPP vs Travis Brazier of Government Road, Charlestown was heard. The case concluded with a hung jury, (seven guilty, five not guilty) after evidence was heard of Brazier's involvement in his two indictment for the offence of "Shooting at With Intent". His case has now been traversed to the November 2007 sitting of the Assizes.

     

     

    At the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 18th April 2007, Marlon Bowry of Tabernacle Village, who was charged with the offence of "Unlawful Possession committed on 13th April 2007 was convicted and sentenced to serve two (2) months imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

    At the Sandy Point Magistrate Court on 17th April 2007, Jevon Bennett of St. Pauls Village, who was charged with the offences of "Battery on a Police Officer" and "Resisting Arrest" was convicted and fined $500.00 to be paid in two weeks or default to serve two (2) months imprisonment with hard labour on each count.

     

     

    Also at the Sandy Point Magistrate Court on 17th April 2007, bail was revoked for Dean Boddie of Tabernacle Village. Boddie was previously charged with the offence of "Being found on an enclosed premises for some unlawful purpose namely to steal" committed on 18th March 2007 at Tabernacle. He was bailed with the condition to maintain a 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. curfew which evidence was produced that he had violated.
