The Cabinet of the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party of Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas in keeping with its policy of empowering nationals, on Monday approved the extending of duty concessions to a number of small local businesses in a variety of areas.

"Government recognises the importance of small businesses in the creation of employment and in the driving of economic growth. This recognition is what has informed government's policy to extend this kind of support to a critical sector of the economy," said Minister of State with responsibility for Information, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty.~~adz:Right~~

He told the post Cabinet Briefing that the Labour Government will continue to encourage a spirit of entrepreneurship among the local people and would continue to provide relief and assistance in accordance with its standing policy.
