St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Leader and Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas |
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MAY 22ND 2007 (CUOPM) -- St. Kitts and Nevis' Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas was Sunday re-elected unopposed for the 19th consecutive year as National Political Leader of the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.
Delegates to the Labour Party's 75th Annual Conference also re-elected un-opposed Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor as Deputy National Leader; Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Consumer Affairs, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris as National Chairman and Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, Sustainable Development, Information and Technology, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty as National Vice Chairman.
Elected as the new National Secretary is the Ms. Wanda Connor, who was appointed the Party's Chief Executive Officer in January this year and defeated the other nominee, Mr. Joseph OFlaherty. The outgoing National Secretary, lawyer Jason Hamilton did not seek re-election.
Elected unopposed as the new National Treasurer is Mr. Antonio Maynard. ~~adz:Right~~
Re-elected to the National Executive of the Labour Party were Mrs. Eugenie Condor, Mrs. Hazel Ross-Robinson and Mr. Kirth Charles.
Other members of the National Executive representing the constituencies in St. Kitts are Mr. Lester Ible (Constituency # 1); Mr. Rudolph Morton (Constituency #2); Mr. Jason Hamilton (Constituency # 3); Mr. Cuthbert Caines (Constituency # 4); Mr. George Dixon (Constituency #5); Miss Rubie Taylor (Constituency # 6); Mr. Lenworth Harris (Constituency #7) and Mrs. Joan Phillip (Constituency # 8).
The Young Labour Representative is Mr. Larry Vaughn and the Labour Women Representative is Mrs. Patricia Davis-Paul. |
