As he extended warm greetings and compliments he also extended greetings to the Premier, the Hon Vance Amory.  He said, “I mentioned his name with warm memories, in that, we were at grammar school together in the sixties, and so I wish to invoke his name in his absence.”

“I wish to thank all of you for taking time out of what must be a very hectic schedule to make our meeting here, however brief possible.  To me its an auspicious occasion and an important day,” commented Dr. Yorke.

In his brief remarks, Dr. Yorke reflected on today’s date, (June 23) and noted that it was the day when Marcus Garvey founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) some 85 years ago.
