    (Basseterre; St. Kitts):
The May 2007 Criminal Assizes is ongoing as there are some major cases expected to be heard at the High Court.

Evidence is still being sought for the 17 murders that occurred last year and the six murders so far, not to mention those that are still not solved.  Three murder cases are expected to be tried for the May Assizes.

Richard Morris of Conaree who was charged with the murder of James Williams also of Conaree is expected to have his case tried.

The incident occurred sometime in 2006 near the Pig Farm in Conaree.  Williams was first wounded by Morris but succumbed to his injuries six hours later.

Romeo Cannonier is involved in two murder cases.  Firstly, he has been charged with the killing of police officer Delvin Nisbett - that murder occurred about three years ago in Dieppe Bay.  Then he and three others namely Sheldon Isaac, Louis Gardener and Ruedeney Williams were charged with the murder of Gavin Gilbert.  This murder occurred in 2005 near Gilbert's home in Saddlers Village.

However, according to a High Court source there is no certainty that those cases would be tried as they maybe traversed to the next assizes.

Among the many cases of Indecent Assault, Wounding with Intent, Robbery, House Breaking and Larceny and Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, there is Rape.

Kevin Huggins who was charged with rape had his matter nolle prosequi meaning there was no evidence offered in his matter by the prosecution and his case was dismissed.

~~Adz:Left~~Wycliff Liburd is charged with Rape that occurred last July 2006.  His case is expected to be tried for the May Assizes.

There was also another case that occurred either in 2000 or 2001 and that was Inflicting Grevious Bodily Harm upon a female.  Glen Pemberton was charged with that crime.  The particulars of that case stated that the female was dragged by his moving vehicle on the Frigate Bay Road.
