(Charlestown, Nevis): Moves are afoot for the completion of the Seabridge ferry service which will link St. Kitts South East Peninsular to Cades Bay in Nevis said Seabridge company spokesman Mr. Rawlinson Isaac.

The comments came during a brief telephone interview with Sknvibes.com on Tuesday evening. According to Isaac the Seabridge pier is still under construction and work should be finalized by June 2007.  Presently, the company has obtained an LCU landing vessel

Mr. Isaac also explained that the Seabridge Company was born out of the desire to improve the transportation link between St. Kitts and Nevis via The Narrows.  He noted that the Seabridge transportation service is an alternative to the fixed-link bridge and the core service would be the transportation of vehicles at an affordable cost while covering the 3.6 mile distance in about 15 minutes.

The service is expected to facilitate the labour mobility between the islands, tour expansion for cruise ship visitors, greater support for significant events in St. Kitts or Nevis such as Music Festivals, Carnivals and Culturarama; tertiary education and educational lectures.   ~~Adz:Right~~

Mr. Isaac also noted that the strengthening of family ties, integration of the economic sectors and general expansion for the economies, increase in the volume of trade and greater political and social harmony would also be some of the benefits of the new ferry service.

Presently the St. Kitts Nevis Seabridge site is being hosted by SKNvibes.com and further information about the ferry service can be obtained at www.seabridgeskn.com
