These are some serious times, all I can see 'round is violence and crime& were the words of Jamaican reggae singer Gyptian in his hit single "Serious Times".  And in Nevis we are seeing a similar trend with violence, so we at SKNVibes.com hit the streets to ask you:

How do you feel about the recent gunning-down of local businessman and political commentator Mr. Edric Stanley?

    Lornette Thompson

"What happen to Mr. Stanley should not have happened.  He is a hard working, honest and helpful man.  It is a shame when a person works so hard and these misfits just stay aside, don't decide to work but want the lifestyle of those who they see work.  When things like these happen we hear all sorts of comments but when friends and family condone this sort of lazy behavior it is just as sad.  The Bible tells us in II Timothy 3:1-5 that behaviors like these help us to appreciate that we are in the last days and things will get worse.  I hope that they catch up with the culprit and justice will be served.   I also want to wish Mr. Stanley a speedy recovery and let his family know that they are in my prayers."

"I think that the country is in a sad state when persons would actually reach to the point of taking your life for what you work hard for.  We need to get back to the moral standard of "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" so that you would not think about killing them."

"I am shocked and deeply troubled that Mr. Edric Stanley, a hard-working and law-abiding citizen could be so viciously attacked at his own establishment.  What is our society coming to?  I hope that the perpetrators would soon be brought to justice!"

    Jasmine Barry

"I think that Mr. Stanley was treated unfairly in his own establishment. This is a man who has worked hard and served the island of Nevis being gunned down for his own labour.  I think that Nevis is in trouble and it needs much prayer and these people who are eyeing people who work so hard, they need to take stock of themselves.  There is a lot of work out there and looking for quick money lead to quick death.  The bad things that we do in life always come back to haunt us. I just want to wish Mr. Stanley a quick recovery and best wishes to the family."
