BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS (JUNE 29TH 2004)
    – The recent arrest of two Kittitian fishermen by Netherlands Antilles authorities for allegedly fishing in waters off the Dutch island of St. Eustatius, was among several matters raised by St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas, in his talks with his Netherlands Antilles counterpart.

Prime Minister Douglas in talks with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles, the Hon. Etienne Ys, discussed the need to determine the fishing boundaries between St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Eustatius.

Dr. Douglas also raised his concern over the recent arrest of two Old Road fishermen, Jack Spencer and Marcus Spencer.

Authorities in St. Eustatius alleged the Spencer brothers were arrested for fishing in Statia waters, but both brothers deny the charge.
