(Zagreb, HRV) - Croatia's international defender Domagoj Vida on Friday signed a five-year contract for the national champions Dinamo Zagreb, arriving from German club Bayer Leverkusen.
"I did not play in Germany, and now I arrived in a good club with European ambitions," Vida told journalists.
The 22-year-old started his carrier in his hometown of Osijek, in eastern Croatia. He joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2010 on a five-year deal.
According to local media speculations Dinamo Zagreb paid the German side one million euros for Vida.
Vida has played three matches for Croatia's national team.
Dinamo Zagreb this season claimed the domestic cup and league double.
Since Croatia proclaimed independence in 1991, Dinamo Zagreb have won the title and the cup 13 and 11 times respectively.
