St. Kitts Music Festival Traffic Management Plan

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 19, 2011 -  A press release issued by the Officer-in-Charge of the Traffic Department, Inspector cromwell Henry, indicates the arrangements that would be in place during the 15th annual St. Kitts Music Festival.

     

    Listed below are the Traffic Arrangements: 

     

    Traffic Flow

     

    Traffic will flow in one direction only on the following streets:

     

    i.                    Victoria Road: –   South to North

     

    ii.                  Park Range:-         North to South

     

    iii.                Losack Road:-       West to East from Hart Street. 

     

    Parking

     

    Parking will be permitted on one side only of the following streets:

     

    i.                    Victoria Road:-     Western side only

     

    ii.                  Park Range:-         Eastern side only

     

    Public parking will be available on the Basseterre High School Grounds. (lighting and security will be provided)

     

    Parking on Losack Road will be reserved.

     

    Limited parking will be available at Carnival Village and the Tennis Court parking lot, only persons with the relevant parking passes will be permitted access.

     

    Caterers and vendors will enter the stadium via the Marathon gate opposite the Old Boy School for deliveries, but will not be permitted to park inside the stadium.  Parking will be available at the BHS.

     

    Road Closure

     

    The portion of Losack Road between Victoria Road and Hart Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.

     

    The traffic measures will take effect from 6:00 pm nightly until half hour after the show.  Traffic signs will be placed to indicate restrictions and officers will be on duty to enforce them.  The full cooperation of all is anticipated.
