Press Secretary
(Charlestown, Nevis- Monday, June 25, 2007)  Premier Parry and members of the Nevis Island Administration cabinet will attend a Symposium on Crime at the Four Seasons Resort, Nevis on Tuesday, June 26, 2007.

“This Symposium will hopefully create successful dialogue between the political parties on the island and other major organizations that will discuss a way forward to put an end to crime on Nevis, especially among young people. However, we must realize that crime is still at an all time low, compared to other countries regionally and worldwide and we should be thankful for that", says Premier Parry".

The Symposium will deal with bringing crime on Nevis to the forefront and discuss methods that will help eliminate delinquency on the island. “It is incumbent that there is a collective effort to nip this disturbing trend in the bud, if we are to continue to experience the peace and stability for which we have become renowned, and by extension secure the economic growth and development in a context of social order".                                   ~~Adz:Right~~

This is a call for all of our resources, both human and capital, to bring to bear in reducing the specter of crime, while returning our island to a disciplined, hard working, value-based community,” says Co- Chairman Stephen Walwyn.

Premier Parry has been invited as a key stakeholder to this Symposium to discuss short and long term solutions with a view to developing a broad-ranged strategic plan for going forward as the community seek to address the present state of affairs. Co-Chairman for the symposium, Dr. Cardell Rawlins says, “We must never allow the will, resolve and pride of our great community to be thwarted by the growth of a few misguided souls.”
