                       7-year-old Shawn Wigley Jr.
(Basseterre; St. Kitts):  A father is desperately seeking the help of the general public in finding the  whereabouts of his 7-year-old son Shawn Wigley Jr.

Shawn is a grade one student of the St. Theresa’s Convent Primary School and has been missing for over eight months.

His father Shawn Wigley Sr. and mother Patty-Anna “Grace” Hares were divorced in 2006 and Shawn was living with his mother at the time of his disappearance with a pending custody hearing.

The custody hearing was scheduled to be heard on October, 26 just three days after Shawn’s disappearance.

According to Shawn’s father, he usually takes his son lunch every lunch time but on the day of October 23,2006 when he arrived at the school he was informed by his teacher that she did not see him for the day.

“I then proceeded to the mother’s house to see if everything was alright but was told by a neighbor that the mother left with the child early in the morning,” he said.
                    Mother Patty-Anna “Grace” Hares.

Wigley Sr. said that his ex-wife is of Guyanese decent and a citizen of the Federation by marriage.

The distraught father who has been a staff Sergeant for ten years continued by saying that he found out through personal investigations that his son and ex-wife traveled to the United States of America on a visitor’s visa.

“It is very painful because I love my son very much and we were very close,” said Wigley.

Wigley Sr. said that his ex-wife is very abusive towards their son.

“She has been very abusive to the child in the past and possibilities exist for continued abuse,” he said.

The father is appealing to anyone with information about the whereabouts of his son to contact the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children in the U.S. or the local police authorities in St. Kitts.

There is a case officer currently working on the case and Wigley has also been trying to get assistance from the local government since January but has been told unless it is a ~~Adz:Right~~ matter of homeland security they do not give it priority.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Shawn Wigley Jr. and his mother Patty-Anna “Grace” Hares can contact Shawn Wigley Sr. at 869-764-8063.
