Man’s body found in bushes at MontPelier with bullet to head

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE body of a young man was this morning (June 23) discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in the MontPelier area on Nevis.

The body, which was identified by a brother, is that of 24-year-old Remo ‘Pimplin’ Caines of Government Road, Charlestown, Nevis.

This information was confirmed by the Acting Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Stephen Hector, who said that a press release would follow shortly.

He also said that police are following up on a number of leads as investigations are ongoing.

Information reaching SKNVibes indicates that Caines’ body was discovered next to a clump of bushes by an individual who was jogging in that area very early this morning.

According to reliable sources, the deceased was barefooted and clad in a blue short pants and a multi-coloured T-shirt that was partly off his body.

Sources also suggested that from the multiple bruises seen on Caines’ back, he might not have been killed in the area where his body was found but shot somewhere else, dragged and placed there.

Sergeant Hector informed this media house that District Medical Officer Dr. Chandy Jacobs was summoned to the scene and had pronounced Caines dead.

Caines’ death had taken the number of homicides recorded in the twin-island Federation for the year to 14; 12 on St. Kitts and two on Nevis.
