BRADES, Montserrat, June 24th 2011 – Persons who are preparing to travel abroad to destinations that require special vaccinations are asked to visit the local health centre to receive assistance.

According to Community Nursing Manager Violet Brown, the vaccinations are in limited supply and the Yellow Fever vaccine will expire on June 30. Brown says other available vaccines are Hepatitis B, Varicella known better as Chicken Pox, and Seasonal Influenza.

The health official said ministers of government and other persons who travel often to exotic countries should take advantage of the opportunity to get the vaccines. She also advised students preparing to attend school in India are also required to have vaccines before they will be granted visas to enter the country.

Persons are asked to visit the St. John’s Health Centre as soon as possible or call 491-5218 to sign up to receive the Yellow Fever vaccine which must be admitted in groups of 10 to avoid wastage.
