St. Kitts Tourism Authority

St. Kitts & Nevis HTA President Mr. Kishu Chandiramani,  Hon. Richard "Ricky" Skerritt, Minister of Tourism and St. Kitts & Nevis HTA Manager Mr. Michael Head

Key tourism issues headed a wide-ranging agenda at the first meeting between the newly appointed manager of the St. Kitts and Nevis Hotel and Tourism Assocation and the Hon. Richard "Ricky" Skerritt, Minister of Tourism.

HTA manager Michael Head was introduced to the minister by the association's President, Kishu Chandiramani, at the meeting on Thursday July 12th.

The main focus of the discussions at the lengthy meeting centered on flights from the United Kingdom, the granting of duty-free concession and the replacement of personnel in the Tourism's Authority's UK office.

The HTA also updated the Minister on its new inititatives. These include the setting up of a tourist information channel on Cable television, in conjunction with a series of adverts being produced to illustrate the importance of tourism to the entire community. The ads will cover subjects ranging from customer service to crime to clean and safe beaches.

The HTA, a group representing the interests of tourism-related businesses in St. Kitts and Nevis, said it hopes to work even more closely with the island's tourism officials in future, and particularly looks forward to a continuing and productive dialogue with the Minister. ~~Adz:Right~~
