    BRADES Montserrat, June 28th 2011 – ZJB Radio Montserrat will be transmitting the Annual Report from the Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Sir K Dwight Venner this Wednesday evening. The presentation will highlight the programmes and projects the Bank has been undertaking to maintain financial stability in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.

     

    The presentation will be broadcast on radio and television stations in the ECCB member countries[1] at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 29 June.

     

    During the presentation the Governor will also outline the policies and programmes, which the Bank, in collaboration with its member governments, has put in place to enhance the supervision and regulation of the commercial banks.  In addition, the Governor will report on the measures that are being put in place to strengthen the regulatory framework governing the operations of the non-bank financial institutions which operate within the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union.

     

    The presentation will also outline the Central Bank’s areas of focus as it seeks to assist its member governments with restructuring and strengthening their economies and responding more effectively to the impact of the global economic and financial crisis.

     

    The text, along with audio and video recordings of the ECCB’s 2010/2011 Annual Report Presentation will be available on the Bank’s website (www.eccb-centralbank.org) from 8:00 p.m. on 29 June.
