LYLAA 2006 Award Winners |
The Liamuiga Youth Legacy Awards Association, an Honour Society that recognizes young people who have been exemplary citizens of St. Kitts, is soliciting applications and nominations from outstanding, well-rounded young individuals who are agents of change and who have contributed to the development of their respective communities and to St. Kitts. Applicants must be between the ages of sixteen (16) and thirty-five (35) and must have devoted his or herself to a legacy of Scholarship, Leadership and Service.
Founder and Chairperson, Ms. Mutryce A. Williams encourages all eligible young persons to apply. She also encourages the public to submit nomination forms so that the young persons in our society would be given due recognition.
Ms. Williams said that over the past three years LYLAA has recognized over twenty outstanding young persons. She says that the organization has been quite pleased with the caliber of awardees who have been selected over the years.
She also states that questions have been asked as to why several prominent young persons have not been awarded. Ms. Williams informed that the LYLAA selection process is a transparent one and that only those individuals who apply or who are nominated are considered for selection by the Selections Committee which is chaired by Ms. Teslyn Simmonds.
