BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DENVILLE FRANCIS and Dijorne Small who make up the duo Young Prince and Rudii are on the verge of releasing their debut album, after releasing two new topping singles as a teaser of what to expect from the compilation dubbed ‘Me Against The World’.
Francis said he hooked up with Small after they recorded a track together last year. According to him, the track titled ‘I Miss You’ received incredible feedback and that is when they decided to form the duo.
Small, who hails from Cayon is the rapper of the twosome while Francis who is the singer hails from Newton Ground.
Both artistes have been experimenting with music from a tender age. Small found his love for hip-hop after listening to people like Kanye West.
Meanwhile Francis started out singing in church and later entered Kittitian Superstar in 2008 where he was a finalist and became quite known. They are also both part of the Phresh Kutt music group from out of Shanty Town in Cayon.
‘Me Against The World’ will feature nine songs of which they have released two singles, the title track that carries a music video, and ‘Happy Tears’ which will see a video release on Wednesday.
‘Happy Tears’ speaks of the loss of loved ones, not just through violence, while ‘Me Against The World’ is a motivational track inspiring people to stay positive, try harder and not to give up.
Francis said both tracks have been well received by the public. “The feedback has been amazing, sometimes I hear our songs playing in buses and on people’s phones as their ring tone and it makes me feel so good,” he added.
The album will also feature two solo tracks from both artistes; ‘Stay Grinding’ by Small and ‘Island Girls’ by Francis.
Since the success and feedback of the two singles the duo has performed on a number of shows and have been contacted by various individuals abroad who heard and love the tracks. They are also expected to travel to St. Martin to perform in August.
