The following persons were arrested and charged between 22nd and 23rd July 2007;
· On 22nd July 2007, Franklyn Williams of Buckley’s Estate was charged with the offence of “Making Use of Threatening Language” committed on 20th July 2007 at Lower Shear Lane, Basseterre.
· On 23rd July 2007, a sixteen-year-old male of the Basseterre area was charged with the offence of “Burglary” committed on 24th July 2007 at Malone Avenue, Basseterre.
· On 23rd July 2007, a sixteen year old and three (3) fourteen year old males all of the St. Pauls Village area were charged with the offence of “House Breaking and Larceny” committed on 7th June 2007.
On Monday 23rd June 2007 at the Juvenile Court Sitting, a twelve-year-old male of St. Pauls was convicted of “Possession of a Controlled Drug” to wit cannabis, committed on 8th February 2007. He was ordered by the court to attend a course at the Youth & Community Affairs Department and to attend a Workshop at the Basseterre High School between 20th and 23rd August 2007 by the said department. He is to maintain a 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. curfew at his mother’s home in Tabernacle and is not to be seen in the company of undesirables. ~~Adz:Right~~
During the dawning of Monday 23rd July 2007, officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force acting on information searched an abandoned house through an alley in Lower Shaw Avenue area. There the officers discovered a large number of drinks and other boxed items believed to have been stolen from a nearby business place.
Further investigations led to execution of search warrants on two (2) separate homes within the area and a number of items also suspected of being stolen were found. The items were taken into police custody along with two (2) male adults from the McKnight area who are assisting with the investigation.
The stolen items were later identified as those taken from a business establishment within the McKnight area.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force would like to remind the public that it is an offence for any person to buy or receive stolen goods.
