Kayamba Gumbs salary issues partly settled

    BASSETERRE st. Kitts, July 1st 2011 - Sriwijaya FC striker Keith Gumbs Kayamba can finally breathe easier after the club paid a salary that has been delayed for three months on Thursday (30 / 6).

     

    Understandably, after the last game on June 19 Kayamba had intended to return to Australia which is the hometown of his wife as well as St.Kitts-Nevis his hometown.

     

    "Today I said goodbye to the management to return to Australia.  Now I want to take some time with the family,"  Kayamba said.

     

    Unpleasant news about player salaries not  been paid since mid-June 2011 was revealed. striker and defender Gunawan Budi Sudarsono Dwi Cahyo claimed that players had not received salaries since April.

     

    Sriwijaya management claimed it was only because of technical problems. And now through PT Sriwijaya Sriwijaya management will fulfill thier promise to pay players salaries.

     

    "On average, players had gone home. So we transfer directly to each account.

     

    We paid for three months straight starting April, May and June," said Finance Director of PT SOM Augie Bunyamin, Thursday, June 30, 2011.

     

    According to Kayamba, the player's contract with management SFC is not over, but because there is no scheduled game again they are allowed to return home.

     

    "The contract was ended in August, but I was in Palembang. today, as our players are in a period of negotiation. I am still in the SFC, which means I may return to Palembang in the next season," said the Caribbean Cups leading scorer.

     

    SFC Management declared officially that Kayamba will be maintained.

     

    " Now I want to take some time with the family,"  Kayamba said.
