Kim Collins set for triumphant return to Russia

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, July 1st 2011 - Russia has almost become a favourite and of the more successful stops for Caribbean Kittitian sprint legend Kim Collins and this weekends Znamenskiy Memorial meet is expected to be another successful stop  for the St.Kitts-Nevis National Sports Hero.
     
    The 35 year old veteran is a regular visitor to Russia and has enjoyed many success’ there including a victory at the Moscow Open earlier this year . The 2003 World Champion Collins will no doubt be looking to improve one of the oldest men’s records of the Znamenskiy Memorial meet. The fastest time for the dash was set in 1986 by Victor Bryzgin (10.03). Collins is in fine form this year  with a 10.06 secs clocking at his hometown nationals just 2 weekends ago as well  an impressive victory in Poland less than a week ago.
     
    The 53rd edition of Brothers Znamenskiy Memorial which is part of the IAAF World Challenge series takes place on Sunday 3 July in the town of Zhukovsliy which is situated in the Moscow region.
     
    Approximately 200 participants from 22 countries are expected to take part.
