The Police are continuing investigations into an apparent robbery attempt on the Sandy Point Branch of the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank (SKNANB), in the early morning hours of Monday, July 30th.

Apparently, the perpetrator(s) used equipment similar to that of a blow torch to melt the lock on the back door, to gain entry into the establishment.
However, up to the time of the posting of this article, there was no official report of the robber(s) making away with anything.
Senior SKNANB personnel, along with officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), were at the scene assessing the situation.
Interestingly, even during the mid morning hours, the scent of smoke was distinct around the area.
Residents living near the scene of the apparent robbery spoke of being disturbed just around 3 a.m. by the persistent barking of dogs. Some even spoke of hearing strange noises but for safety reasons stayed within the confines of their homes.
Presently, the bank is closed and patrons have to utilize the services of other SKNANB branches.

There will be an update once the Police forward their report.
