    ROADTOWN Tortola, 4th July, 2011 - The public is invited to learn more about human rights through a series of workshops which will be held in the Territory from July 4-8. The free training sessions are designed to enhance the capacity in the Virgin Islands to effectively address human rights issues using a multi-sectoral approach.

     

    Interested persons are invited to register to attend any of the sessions which begin today, Monday, July 4. On Tortola, there will be two sessions on Tuesday, July 5; a session on Human Rights in Education begins at 8:30am and beginning at 2:00pm, another session on Human Rights Policy Making, Practice and Review.

     

    Training continues on Wednesday, July 6 with sessions on Human Rights and Law Enforcement beginning at 8:30am. Meetings will also be held on Virgin Gorda and Anegada on Wednesday, July 6. On Virgin Gorda, the training session will be held at the Vanterpool Building beginning at 9:00am, and on Anegada at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre beginning at 9:30am.
