BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TIANDRA FRANCIS is now the queen of the Irishtown Primary School after being crowned on Saturday (July 2) where she amassed 337 points. She also won Best Introductory Speech and Best Talent.
Taking the First Runner-up position with 302 points was Shenice Richards, who also took Best Evening Wear while Jahquazia Bass was Second Runner-up totalling 280 points.
The other contestants competing for the Irishtown Primary School Community Development and Enhancement Princess Pageant title were Kimone James and Kazzi Richardson.
The five students also took part in another segment dubbed ‘Impersonation’ where they each impersonated members of the community.
This segment was not judged but provided detailed information of five individuals from the Irishtown community who the school considered as stalwarts. The individuals were Dolly Dore, Miss. Janet, Charles Stanley Burt, Andrew Saunders and Norris Vanlow.
Principal of the school, Elvis Charles indicated that the main objective of the pageant was to pass on the history of the exemplary lives those individuals lived and for young people in the community to use them as role models.
Sideshow performances were rendered by Minister LK, Footsy, Serenity, Nicha B and Pinocchio whom the children gathered around in excitement to see, as they crowded the wooden stage dancing and singing along with the artistes.
Despite the rain which had caused the show to be postponed to Saturday, the turnout was good and the show came to an end moments before midnight.
