The Committee for District #1 of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has expressed sincere gratitude to supporters of their disaster preparedness programme.
District Coordinator, Mrs. Telca Wallace, says that she is encouraged by the outpouring of support from the local business community, especially as the hurricane season is now in effect. ~~Adz:Right~~
“It is true that more can always be done,” she said, “so although we are extremely grateful to our corporate partners, GoogalArts, Kassab Hardware, Sam Nariani & Sun Island Clothes, S.L. Horsford & Co. Ltd. and TDC Hardware, for their support, we further challenge them to make their commitment long term.”
Other members of the corporate community are invited to follow the example set by these businesses, according to Wallace, by getting on board with NEMA’s disaster preparedness programmes.
Manager for District One, Mr. Lloyde Lazar, was on hand to receive the donations for the organisation.
“At community level,” he said, “we want everyone to play their part and to assist us in our efforts to make disaster management a component of our culture.”
