Press Release

BRADES, Montserrat, July 6th, 2011 - The Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs, Hon. Easton Farrell Taylor has urged residents to be grateful and thankful for God’s blessings and mercies over the past 16 years of ongoing volcanic activity.

Minister Taylor was speaking at the National Service of Thanksgiving at the St John’s Anglican Church on Sunday July 3rd.

He said “I believe that as a Nation we are blessed but we often take these blessings for granted, simply because we wake up every day to these new blessings from God.”

Minister Taylor in his presentation sought to remind the audience of the many blessings received daily. “As a nation we do not talk about drought and famine in this land, we breathe fresh clean air, drink fresh spring water, we live in a relatively peaceful country, crime and violence in this land cannot be compared to that in other nations,” he said.

The National Service of Thanksgiving was organized by the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs in collaboration with the Montserrat Christian Council to allow residents to reflect on 16 years of volcanic activity.
