Since the bizarre shooting incident, there have been numerous versions as to what happened. However, up to the time of the posting of this article, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.
Whilst there are those who claim that the Defence Force officer pulled his weapon and discharged some rounds in self defence, there are others who question the soldier’s use of the weapon.
Some Old Road residents say that the officer meant well but his vigilante way of dealing with certain issues contributed to the tense relations between him and a number of youths in the Old Road area.
Residents claim that it reached to such a point that the Defence Force soldier felt that most people were out to exact street justice on him.
