ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, 6th JULY, 2011 - Grenada’s Prime Minister, Hon. Tillman Thomas, took time from the CARICOM Heads of Government Summit in St. Kitts last weekend to show his support for the Grenada Under 23 team which is participating in the OECS/ECCB Netball Tournament.

The Prime Minister accompanied by Foreign Minister Hon. Karl Hood, on Saturday visited the Grenada team at the Pam Tyson Complex at Warner Park, Basseterre.

“It was a pleasure to meet with the team. I wished them well in the tournament and look forward to another success for Grenada,” Prime Minister Thomas said Wednesday, noting that Grenada is defending the title they won in 2010.

The tournament, one of the community outreach programmes of the East Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), officially started on Saturday and will climax on Wednesday evening at 6.00pm.

According to the ECCB, the sponsorship of the championship is recognition of the importance of sports to development and the strengthening of the integration process.
